Telling the Bees

We collected wishes from strangers, and then read them to the bees; whispering the wishes from people we never met, to a hive of bees, who hummed and harvested in response. A Telling to the Bees.

Part of an old beekeeper tradition of telling bees their news; of a sharing with the bees their human joys and pains, in a belief that if the bees weren’t told of important news they may leave their hives or stop making honey, or die. In this manifestation we collected wishes from the Transformations  Conference, UTS Sydney and read the wishes to a beehive nestled in the Sydney urban bushland.
